Whitehead Institute and MIT Biology seek applicants for two tenure track faculty positions

Whitehead Institute https://wi.mit.edu/ and Department of Biology at M.I.T. https://biology.mit.edu/ are seeking outstanding scientists for two tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level.  

Infectious disease: We are interested in candidates who are pursuing innovative approaches to fundamental problems in infectious disease and immunology.

Fundamental Biology: We are interested in candidates who are pursuing innovative approaches to fundamental problems in molecular, cellular, or organismal biology.  Areas of interest include, but are not limited to development, cell biology, computational biology, chemical biology, biophysics, structural biology, physiology, and genetics.

Applicants are expected to develop and lead a vibrant, independent research program and to share our commitment to undergraduate and graduate education by teaching courses and supervising graduate and undergraduate research. We are particularly interested in candidates who will help promote and provide diversity. We are committed to providing our faculty with a supportive environment that emphasizes mentoring and is mindful of diverse backgrounds. 

Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent and should submit a curriculum vitae, a summary of current and proposed research programs, three letters of recommendation, and a statement on their philosophy and/or approach to teaching, mentoring, diversity, and outreach.
