As the effects of climate change mount, humankind faces a slew of threats: steadily rising temperatures, the spread of pests and diseases, increased storm events, and food insecurity. But what will be the biological effects of climate change? What harmful impacts will it have on human health and well-being and how will it change our planet?

The program, which took place in-person April 19-21, for Whitehead Institute’s 2022 Spring Lecture Series for High School Students, was The Rising Impact of Climate Change on Human Health. During this three day program we explored the many ways that climate change affects biology and human health, and how researchers are using innovative approaches to try to solve climate change-driven problems.

The series included hands-on activities, laboratory modules and discussions with pioneering scientists.
