According to the national budget proposed on March 15, 2017, National Institutes of Health funding would be reduced by an estimated 20 percent.  For Whitehead Fellow Sebastian Lourido, the cut would hit at a crucial time in his career -- as he transitions into a faculty position at Whitehead.  In this STAT article, Lourido comments on how tighter funding could affect the future of American biomedical research.
