CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Whitehead Institute is pleased to announce the launch of its new public website. “A major goal of the redesign was to create an attractive, user-friendly site while adhering to web standards to increase accessibility and to streamline site maintenance,” explains Web Project Manager Paulette Bouchard who managed the redesign. Efficiencies in site maintenance will make it easier to deliver video and other new content. The redesign also highlights what visitors value most, based on analysis of website traffic.

The updated website at www.whitehead.mit.edu offers easier navigation and improved organization. The main content areas allow quick access to major categories—About Whitehead, Faculty and Research, Research News, Public Programs, Career Opportunities and Support Whitehead. A host of new features also has been introduced:

  • Quick access to each faculty member’s research summary
  • Whitehead Academy, a virtual lecture hall where senior Whitehead researchers introduce their work to non-scientists in QuickTime videos
  • Archives for Paradigm and Discovery magazines, plus a handy online subscription form
