Would you like to be invited to future Whitehead events?
Whitehead Institute hosts various events throughout the year, providing myriad opportunities for donors, friends and members of the Whitehead community to learn about our latest research and interact with our scientists. Held at the Institute in Cambridge or in New York City, Whitehead events include the signature Whitehead Colloquium and Whitehead Symposium, as well a variety of special lectures and cocktail receptions.
The Whitehead Colloquium, held each fall at the Institute in Cambridge, is the signature event for members of the Board of Associates (BOA). The event features keynote addresses by our faculty, laboratory demonstrations, an “interactive lunch” with our postdoctoral fellows, and first-hand updates on the latest in biological breakthroughs.
The 2014 Whitehead Colloquium will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2014. Details are available at wi.mit.edu/colloquium.
The Whitehead Symposium is Whitehead Institute's major spring event in New York City. Held over two days, the Symposium kicks-off with a private cocktail reception and scientific presentation on a Thursday evening, followed by a half-day program on Friday morning. Geared towards a lay audience, the program features several Whitehead Institute scientists, providing attendees a comprehensive review of the latest groundbreaking research being conducted at Whitehead.
The 2014 Whitehead Symposium was held at the New York Yacht Club in Manhattan on Friday, May 2nd.
Other events and more information
In addition to the Whitehead Colloquium and Whitehead Symposium, Whitehead Institute hosts other special events throughout the year. On the last day of each February, Whitehead hosts a Rare Disease Forum, brining a community of rare disease advocacy organizations in New England to Whitehead to discuss the importance of basic research. Whitehead also hosts receptions and lectures for BOA members in New York and throughout the country.
