Whitehead Institute hosts various events throughout the year, providing myriad opportunities for donors, friends and members of the Whitehead community to learn about our latest research and interact with our scientists. Held at the Institute in Cambridge or in New York City, Whitehead events include the signature Whitehead Colloquium and Whitehead Symposium, as well a variety of special lectures and cocktail receptions.
Whitehead Colloquium

The Whitehead Colloquium, held each November at the Institute in Cambridge, is the signature event for members of the Board of Associates (BOA). The full-day event provides BOA members and their guests with a front-row seat to the latest breakthroughs in biomedicine, including keynotes by several faculty members, tours and demonstrations in Whitehead’s labs, and cocktails and dinner with our researchers.
At the 2012 Whitehead Colloquium on November 3rd, two of Whitehead Institute’s preeminent scientists, David Page and Gerry Fink, explored the complex factors underlying disease susceptibility.
Whitehead Symposium

The Whitehead Symposium is Whitehead Institute's major spring event in New York City. Held over two days, the Symposium kicks-off with a private cocktail reception and scientific presentation on a Thursday evening, followed by a half-day program on Friday morning. The program features three or four Whitehead Institute scientists, providing attendees a comphrensive overview of the latest groundbreaking research being conducted at Whitehead.
The 2013 Whitehead Symposium will be held at the New York Yacht Club in Manhattan on Friday, May 3rd.
Other events and more information
